Dr. Valentina Shakhnovich’s research program focuses on drug dose individualization for children with gastrointestinal disorders, with a specific focus on genetic and non-genetic factors that contribute to variability in drug disposition and response to medications, including PPIs. Given her areas of subspecialty expertise, she recently served on the panel of experts who helped to develop the new CPIC clinical guidelines for drug dose selection of PPIs based on CYP2C19 genetics.
